We sell Series EE bonds in denominations of $50, $75, $200, $500, $1,000, $5,000 and $10,000 to both members and non-members. They have final maturity terms of 30 years and can be redeemed 12 months after purchase.
Bonds are issued at 50% of the face value. For example, a $50 bond costs only $25. The bonds are guaranteed to reach face value in 17 years.
We also offer Series I bonds. These are bought at face value (at $50, $75, $100, $200, $500, $1,000, $5,000 and $10,000) and the interest rate is calculated as a earning of a fixed rate of return and a semi-annual inflation rate based on the Consumer Price Index.
